Homework will consist primarily of reading for 20 minutes, spelling, and math. Homework will be collected each morning and students are expected to hand it in on time. During an absence, missed work will be collected and given to your
child upon their return to school.
Whenever possible, homework should be completed by your child with your help as a guide. Homework has been explained with the hope that your child will ask
questions in class when there is confusion. It is understandable, however, that there will be occasions when your child has some difficulty. When this occurs please feel free to attempt the homework for a reasonable amount of
time and then write a note in the Agenda Book that the effort was put forth but he/she needs help completing the work at
school.
A major part of homework assignments is organization. Students are expected to bring their Take-Home folder and
Agenda Book home each night. It is their responsibility to remember their homework before leaving school. It would also be helpful for you to encourage your child to take the responsibility of returning both of these items back to their bags to bring to school the next morning so that they become
accustomed to keeping track of their own papers.
Please make it a habit to sit down with your child.
